Poema del Mar (1334)

Must see

We visited the aquarium on our recent holiday, after reading reviews we opted not to buy tickets in advance but on the door. We combined the trip in Las Palmas from Puerto Rico for the day with a visit to Vegueta, although you could easily spend a day there. Thanks to another reviewer we parked in the nearby mall which was easy to get to and a quick 5m walk to Poema del Mar. The site is incredible, time slots are preferred and on entry it tends to be a bit busy but once groups begin to space out you can enjoy all the exhibits. The first bit with the plastic landscaping and dinosaurs is a bit weird, but the mock swing bridge is a nice touch and the water displays draw you in, it just gets more magical. Once you begin to immerse into the aquarium there are lots of interesting fishes to spot and lots to keep your interest. The multi level tanks mean you can spot everything from every angle, the tunnels give you the opportunity to think your in their with them and finally the big window towards the end, wow, simply amazing. Sat right at the front and enjoyed the view like others. Spectacular and would throughly recommend it. It reminded me of the Finding Dory movie, especially the multilayered tank and the lights and the colourful and wonderful fish, sharks, rays and turtles. Not to be missed. Minor issue was that the toliets at the entrance were overly hot, and small.
