VIP a complete waste of time and money
We came on Tuesday as a family of 5, (kids 17, 15 and 6), we got there just after 9 and it was already quite busy but we didn't wait too long to get in. We had VIP passes which cost a small fortune. It was quite busy walking up to the lockers but again we didn't wait a huge amount of time but what was holding things up was having to have a photo taken beforehand. Once we'd secured our things in the lockers we headed straight for the tower of power which was already about a 40min wait, we thought this would be the only long wait..... We couldn't have been more wrong. We managed the 1st couple of slides relatively quickly but then the experience went down hill, I took our 6 year old to the Lost City whilst my partner and older kids went off, they came back 2hrs later and had only managed 2 rides in that time because the VIP queues were just as long as the regular queues and people were also in the VIP queue without the correct band but weren't being pulled up by the staff. After paying over £700 for VIP I would expect to barely wait for the slides as at the end of the day, summer or not you have paid for that privilege, otherwise what's the point?! Another issue we found as an odd number we weren't allowed on the 4 seater inflatables as a 3, we were made to stand at the side until a single rider was available, this meant we could be standing for 10+mins before we could go on, or I would end up going on with others leaving the kids to join another couple. This was odd when other water parks allow 3 riders. We found some of the staff to be extremely rude, especially on the lazy river which we found to be dangerous, as it was far too overcrowded, especially where it splits to go through the fish tunnel, my family were in that lane and yet I was being forced to the right. The staff where you could get drinks and ice creams didn't seem bothered at all, they were pretty rude to be honest, especially when asking what you could have. The food was ok, the queues went down relatively fast but people pushed in to grab food which meant others had to wait for fresh to be put out. Note that on VIP you cannot get any sweets, crisps or certain ice creams. We also found that later in the day they ran out of ice creams and told you to go to the shop who then told us it wasn't included on the VIP, after paying a small fortune you'd expect all food and drink to be included. The wave pool was good....whilst it was on but the wait between waves was ridiculous, it was a good few minutes between each big wave so the little one just got bored. The maps around the park were bad, you ended up wandering around trying to find the entrances to rides and going the wrong way half the time. Thankfully by the end of the day the older kids had been on all the slides but we certainly didn't get to do them all more than once as expected. Overall there were far far too many people in the park, too many using the VIP passes, as ours was the ones where you had 12 months to use them, so how on earth can they track how many will be used on a particular day?! People were also upgrading to VIP on the day as well. This was one of the reasons the kids wanted to come to Tenerife but unfortunately for us it was a big waste of money and certainly wasn't a VIP experience and we wouldn't return again, unfortunately it seems to be more about the money and less about the experience. We have been on better slides elsewhere for a far cheaper price.
Siam Park
We are truly sorry that the day did not reflect the premium experience you had planned for your family. A VIP visit should feel well organised, comfortable and worthwhile, and it is disappointing to hear that this was not the case on this occasion. During busy periods, Siam Park welcomes guests from around the world, as do other major theme parks in peak season; however, this should never compromise the proper management of priority access. VIP lane eligibility must be checked consistently, and we will share your comments with the operations team so that access control and ride dispatch procedures can be reviewed. Safety requirements determine the number of riders permitted on certain rafts, and our lifeguards must follow those instructions at all times. We appreciate, though, that this can be particularly frustrating for families travelling in odd-numbered groups, especially when waiting times are already high. We are also concerned by the service and safety points raised. Our team members are expected to be helpful, respectful and attentive in every area of the park, while capacity around attractions and the wave pool must always be managed carefully. Your feedback on food and beverage inclusions, stock availability, signage and the overall clarity of the VIP offering is equally important. We regret that what was meant to be a special day for your family ended in disappointment, particularly as visiting Siam Park was one of the highlights of your trip to Tenerife. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention, and we genuinely hope we may have the opportunity to provide you with a much more enjoyable experience in the future.
