Great day out!

We came here about 3 weeks ago when we where on holiday to teneriffe! You can get the free train from the centre of Puerto de la cruz outside the McDonald's it is like a little yellow open train thing it was a handy way to get there. The tickets are much cheaper online was about 35 each on Get your guide, the travel agent places where selling them for about 35 so I would recommend getting them online! The caps where 1 euro each at the entrance they where first come first serve so make sure you get one on entry if you want one. The food and drink inside the park wasnt too expensive compared to theme park prices in UK but we had read they where so we took our own food and drink but once in the park we saw baguettes for around 4 euros so not bad at all! There was a wide range of species in the zoo gorillas, calybaras, flamingos etc then the aquatic side there where penguins and puffins and you can watch the dolphin, orca and sea lion shows which where all fantastic - i recommend getting the leaflet when you get in the oark or the online schedule listing the times of the shows and do the shows first before you walk around the park as they are 20 minutes per show but takes a while inbetween each ones to get to and from and some are first come first served. You can also watch the parrot show which we didn't watch. They explained during the orca show that actually the animals are taken there for rehabilitation as they cannot cope in the wild and one orca is deaf and was struggling to survive and integrate into a pod and so she has thrived at loro parque where they have made an underwater lighting communication system for her. I was dubious about going after watching the blackfish documentary but adrer watching the shows and seeing the enclousures I felt they are treated well. Make sure you go through the tunnel you will see sharks sting rays etc swimming over head! There are also tanks with jelly fish in etc. We had a wonderful time here and recommend to anyone!
