Queues Galore!

Torn as to what rating to give Siam Park, kids loved the rides, but would i recommend or encourage a parent to have the experience or spend alot of money like we did, the answer would be no. There were 13 of us on a general ticket, so that was approx £500 for entry for 8 hours. Pros, the park is well maintained, well laid out with maps, shaded areas while queuing for rides, good selection of rides, free regular double decker bus service from some resorts, general entry prices are great, but the experience when there is what makes the day. Cons, We arrived before the park opened at 10am and it was already crowded. Queuing to get through security. Then queuing for our tickets to be checked. Then queuing into a spot to get our photos taken, then walking through crowds to get to the lockers. Another queue to get a locker key 10€ non-refundable, another queue while people loaded their items into lockers or stood around infront of their and our lockers putting suncream on. We get out of the locker hut, go to the first ride, the lazy river, another queue to get rings, walk round looking for a shaded area or parasol, none left, next ride, the Naga, 20min queue in the heat, by this point I had enough, we all went for lunch, food ok, another queue & 150€ later and I made the decision to stay with the bags in the shade while everyone else went on the rides. 2 hours later they came back, they had been on 2 rides in 2 hours, queuing up to 1 hour for 1 ride. Snack break, another 30€ spent and another 2 rides before the park closed at 6pm. We didn't get on all the rides & the park is so big we couldn't find one, The Kinnaree. Simply put there is too much overcrowding at the park at peak time. Us British joke that we love queueing and its a national past time, but this broke our tolerance levels. Queuing for everything took the enjoyment out of the day and reduced the opportunity to get on all of the rides, also the number of people pushing past each other on the paths is not fun. Fast passes can be bought in advance, don't wait till the day or they will be sold out. However this would have cost another £400 for us, not great for families on a budget. But you are still paying more to queue at the lockers, restaurants, bars, etc it's only getting you on the rides faster. If you love to queue in 30° heat, with strangers pushing past you and standing so close to you, you can feel their breath or stand on your heels, this is the place for you, but overall we spent approx £700 to queue & not use all the facilities, get on all the rides or have a fun day. More than once we had to tell people to move out of the way of the lockers or stand back out of our space. Just far too many people. Recommend to go out of season to get your money's worth
