Practical tips for a great day

I purchased my tickets in advance from attraction tickets.com and paid £38 per person for entrance with a free burger meal. That’s the best I could find, as discounts are hard to come by. The opening times are 10am – 6 pm but I read somewhere that there would be queues outside so arrive early and they would start to let people in earlier than 10 am. We arrived at 9:30 am and the gates were already open with hundreds of people flooding in in front of us. I would say be there for 9 am. You are not allowed to take your own food or drink into the park and random bag searches take place. Do a little bit of homework online in advance and familiarise yourself with the layout and print it off to take on holiday with you for a last-minute refresher. You won’t be able to carry it around with you but you can have a rough idea where you want to go and which rides you want to do. Wear your swimming costumes underneath your clothes and take water shoes with you (bought mine on Amazon for a couple of pound each. They are at least £15 in the park itself) so you don’t have to mess about when you get there. I would say to avoid the lockers and shops upon entry as they are a distraction. Head immediately over towards the beach at the wave pool. Pay €7 for a large locker which is big enough for a family’s belongings. You have to take your own towels with you so that you can reserve sunbeds with them. You will want to come back in the afternoon for lunch and this beach is right next to the restaurant. If you get the free burger ticket, be sure to only take the burger and not the Smashburger or they will charge an additional €8.95. Once organised, head immediately to the Tower, as this ride will form long queues quickly as it does not accept fast passes. It is worth noting that you cannot wear anything loose on the rides such as T-shirt or swimming goggles. People were leaving their belongings at the top of the ride and having to climb all of the steps again afterwards in order to retrieve them. Work through your chosen list of rides. Be prepared to queue for approximately one hour for each of the big rides. A fast pass is definitely worth it although they are expensive. A limited fast pass can be purchased in the park itself which allows one fast entry to a few of the rides but not all of them. That one was approximately €38 I think . we didn’t bother though . Most of the queues are in the shade but cream up with suntan lotion before you even enter the park and then you won’t have to worry about it. We managed to get around about six of the biggest rides before we went for lunch at 2 pm. We stopped for 45 minutes and then headed off again. You may have read that the queues quieten down towards the end of the day but this was not the case at all. The queues were long right up until just before 6 pm when they closed them. We did not rush to exit the park as it was quite chaotic. We browsed around the gift shops at the end and bought a couple of souvenirs . The Siam waterpark baseball caps are a bargain at one euro each. Don’t bother trying to get a taxi outside. Walk over to Siam Park shopping mall and queue for a taxi there. You will probably wait about 15 minutes for one at the most. Sadly we did not get many photographs of our adventures in the park, although some people were walking around with their phones inside waterproof pouches. Personally we did not want to take the risk. The children’s rides and slides looked enjoyable for younger families, although not applicable for us. The most sedate thing we did was the last 15 minutes of the day to do a lap of the lazy river.
