QUALITY HOTEL IN TENERIFE

We have been to this hotel several times before but of course things can change. We get very well treated by reservation staff who try to give us the same room, fulfil our odd requests for a number of pillows etc. The hotel is a reserved sort of place, especially for Tenerife, albeit in the North of the Island. Hotel can look very off putting from the front as it looks like an inner city block of flats, this is not the case inside, all is kept in very good order. Rooms at the back of the hotel have sea views and higher rooms are better. Spa pool area is really nice but there is no service at all around the pool, you have to move your own sunbeds and sign towels in and out. There are some good classes on offer in the spa, to suit all tastes. Breakfast is extensive but the staff are, at best, standoffish, they do not clear tables or offer any service after tea and coffee offering. Lunchtimes, similar, the menu is very limited, they previously had a small tapas menu but this was not offered this year. We do not eat evening meal in the hotel, as a number of other guests have had similar experiences to us, in as much as staff not great and poorly trained in waiting, in fact we have found so many really good restaurants in close proximity to the hotel that we prefer these, also, hotel food is overpriced compared to rest of the local restaurants. Cocktails are excellent, the staff here are very good, probably the most willing and friendly of all. Nice to hear the entertainment singers starting up about 8.30 while we have a cocktail and before we go out to dinner. Taxis readily available and cheap but also hotel complimentary bus to town if you want it. We keep returning and are fussy guests so that says it all really, intend to return next year.
