Wonderful Place

From the warm and welcoming smile on our arrival from Laura at reception to Carlos helping us at checkout the staff were friendly and approachable. Nothing seemed too much trouble and they were eager to help us have a great stay. Our second floor room, 256, lacked a view, the balcony looking out onto a large palm tree but was comfortable and spacious. Housekeeping were conscientious and we always returned to an immaculately cleaned room. There was little background noise in the evenings and we slept soundly on a very comfortable bed. The complimentary wifi is the best I have encountered. A strong signal throughout the hotel that let me skype and stream with no trouble. The hotel itself is beautiful and achieves its aim of being truly a first class establishment. I enjoyed their gardens more than the neighbouring formal Botanical gardens! As a keen photographers we spent fun hours clicking away at the butterflies, huge Koi, turtles and the landscaped gardens and Japanese bridges, however we spent most of our time in and around the spa pools and saunas where again the staff were friendly and welcoming. There are three restaurants in the hotel. We ate in the Spanish and Chinese restaurants and the meals were exceptional. But the best meal of the day was breakfast, with a huge choice (though the omelettes made to order by the smiling chef were the best) and serving from 8 to 11, so time for a swim first. The third restaurant is Italian and we didn't get to that but will on our next visit. Because we will definitely return. This hotel and its staff is really something special.
