Wonderful family holiday

We decided on the island because of the great weather and the hotel because of the great reviews. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is spotlessly clean with staff willing to deal with any issue straight away. I had a slight issue with noise (a big wedding ) on the first night. I complained and asked if this was to be repeated at anytime during our stay. I was promised a room change if I continued to struggle but after a purchase of some ear plugs (which weren't needed in the end) all was well. I was however asked most mornings if I slept well. A lovely touch to make it seem they really cared....which I think they did. The facilities are insanely fab. We played tennis, golf, ping pong, chess and pool. All of which were free and part of the overall experience of this great hotel. The spa (adults only) was a guilty pleasure of ours and just 1hr in 1 of 9 or so steam/chill/jacuzzi areas was quite enough for my husband and I to recharge our batteries before the second half of the day. Our special thanks go to the free kids room. We actively discourage our kids from 'kids groups' because we want time together but when you've got two children begging to go it's hard to say no. We kept having to think up fab alternatives (supplied by the hotel staff). The fab beaches, the Siam park and lorro park were spectacular and run with the same kind and enthusiastic staff as the botanic. We didn't know till later that they were twinned. A holiday were the spa FREE and kids camp FREE and the top notch nosh FREE there was no complaining. On the subject of food; we went half board and assumed, like many nice hotels with fancy restaurants inside, that we would have the 'special menu'. We didn't. We had the same as everyone else. There were one or two very expensive items that carried a small supplement but otherwise it was a high grade and high value three course meal (if you could manage that every night). my kids loved the naughty kids menu of burgers and hot dogs but I pulled my Crazy mummy card and asked to order off menu for them. The children were eating seabass, salmon, asparagus and much more. I expected to pay more given the upgrade in quality food they were eating.... Nothing. We weren't charged any more and the kids devoured their food every night. From the maps in the room showing me my morning running route to the chocolate on my pillow at night, we have loved our stay. There is always one or two little 'niggles' with any holiday but the sheer kindness and 'over and above the call of duty' attitude to all the staff you won't hear me say a bad word about the place. If you've not got kids, you wanna get away from kids and everything in between, this is your hotel.
