A very lovely hotel.

We stayed at the Botanico hotel for one week. It is a very grand hotel about one and a half miles out of Puerto de la Cruz. This means you have to walk down hill then back up hill or go everywhere in taxis! The staff are exceptional and so kind and pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a deluxe room which was quite small but very comfortable. We had a spectacular view of the valley and Mount Teide from our balcony. It was lovely sitting out there looking at the view in 27 degrees at the beginning of December. There is a wonderful spa too at the hotel with an outdoor and indoor pool. There is also another huge pool near another lunchtime restaurant and bar. The breakfast is wonderful. There was so much choice it was hard to decide what to choose. It was my birthday while we were there and the chambermaid arranged flowers and my birthday cards for me and made 2 swans out of the towels for me. Then a knock on the door and in came a waiter with a bottle of Cava and a chocolate cake for me. It was such a kind thought. This is a really lovely hotel and I would recommend it with no trouble at all!
