Beautiful Hotel

We have just returned from a totally relaxing week at this hotel. Our room was in the 3rd floor and we had a sea view room. We chose this option when we booked but to be honest I would have been happy with a garden view as the gardens are glorious. The room was very lovely, its traditional in style with carpets and the bed was really comfortable and you have a pillow menu to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. The weather was not that good so the heating was on which we thought would be a problem at night, but we left the balcony door open and it was perfect, the hotel and surrounding area is so quiet we weren't disturbed. The breakfast in the hotel was fantastic, everything you could want. Unfortunately it wasn't pool weather but we made full use of the spa every day. You have a robe and slippers and can go from your room to the spa all robed up! We ate at the Oriental restaurant which was very good and then at the Spanish restaurant, which was ok. We ate out for the other 5 nights of our stay as we felt it was better value for money. Botanico is on a hill and it's a hell of a walk from the sea up to the hotel, but we did this walk almost every day for the exercise. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around the area of the hotel, so don't let this put you off choosing the Botanico. The hotel do provide a courtesy bus to and from the sea front which we used on our last day. It's a beautiful hotel, very tranquil and totally relaxing, the staff cannot do enough to help and all very friendly. As an example, my husbands robe was a bit in the small side but he had made do with the this, but the chambermaid saw us coming back from the spa and a few moments later knocked on our door with a robe in a larger size which was so thoughtful of her. During our stay we decided to take a trip to Loro Parque organised by the hotel. We booked on the day at the last minute so didn't know what to expect. We were provided with a taxi transfer to and from the park and a guided tour around the park. Adrian our guide was excellent, he showed us the highlights of the park and reserved us the best seats at all the shows, I even got to kiss a sea lion and I wasn't expecting that! The hotel also provided a picnic lunch for us which was totally unexpected. The trip was fantastic value for money and totally enjoyable. Would definitely stay at the botanic again
