Lovely hotel with top class service
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Botanico, brief as it was, as it is a well run and well appointed five star hotel in Puerto de la Cruz. It is not on the sea front, which is an approximately 10-15 minute walk downhill which is easy on the way down but more of a slog when coming back up. A shuttle bus runs all day which is helpful for the less able-bodied. Rooms are decorated in a warm comfortable red palette and our suite was large and comfortable with a sea view overlooking the villas and hotels below. The breakfast buffet is ample and delicious - probably the highlight of the day. We were unaware until we arrived that the weather in the North of Tenerife is much colder and wetter than the south so were unfortunate to have a cloudy and dull week but this is not to fault the hotel or our stay. It is a grown up, stately and fine hotel.
