extraordinary service and staff

Based on previous reviews and the need for a place to relax in comfort and be spoilt a bit, I chose the hotel Botanica. The hotel really does live up to its positive reviews - the service is impeccable, the staff do not bat an eyelid for any requests and are all very gracious. We changed rooms 3 times until I was happy with the lack of noise - I am very sensitive to noise and was disturbed by the noise ( even on the 3rd floor) coming up from the music in the bar below. I can recommend rooms on the 4th floor in the wing overlooking the Spa area if you are sensitive to noise - but there is still some traffic noise as there are roads all round the hotel. The weather was cool so we had the window open at night - but I expect that in warmer weather the a/c would mean no traffic noise. My husband slept wonderfully throughout though- and is probably more representative of noise tolerance. The breakfasts were really good - superb choice of everything you could want. The Spa was good - nice saunas and hammams, good sports massage and pools. The weather was not good during our stay so the spa was a welcome distraction There is some sort of entertainment each evening - not something I am interested in , to be honest, but a lot of the guests clearly enjoyed it. The hotel also clearly caters for a lot of German guests, so lots of German TV channels and newspapers. The clientèle is also mostly the golden age - so not much of a buzz, if that is what you are looking for. the only disappointing thing for us was the lack of any information on walks and hikes. It would have been very nice to have some reference books on the birds, flora etc. to look at as well as the glossy coffee table books. I also think it a pity that hotels of this calibre do not offer tea and coffee facilities in the rooms -but it seems that is a very Anglo-Saxon service. All in all, I would definitely go back given the opportunity and can highly recommend it
