Fabulous stay, great service, wonderful gardens

The hotel is superb with extremely good service. It appeals to an older crowd, and wouldn't suit those wanting cheap drinks and lively surroundings - discreet elegance is more the Botanico's style. The gardens are fabulous and there's a big pool and shallow children's pool. Stayed in a junior suite, asked for a quiet room but it was above the driveway and noisy guests disturbed us twice - the bottle of cava when we complained was very welcome. As for the free spa (no under-16s): wow, the best I've been to of lots, with free morning classes (Pilates, yoga, stretch, Tai Chi) - tutor Ely deserves special mention for her instruction. The spa has an indoor pool and jacuzzi, ice cave, Turkish steam room, aromatherapy steam room, sauna and water beds. Outside there is another jacuzzi and a lovely big pool with water jets you can swim against. There's also a wide range of spa treatments (fairly expensive). The brunch/breakfast, served until 1030 (11 at weekends) is vast with a huge choice including baked (hot) fish, roast meat, the full English, cold meats, cheeses, eight types of bread, toast, croissants and fizz (cava). Fresh fruit, whole or cut up, fruit salad, many types of dried poached fruit, tinned fruit, fresh salad ingredients ......I could go on and on. Opposite the hotel are a range of cheap restaurants for a change from hotel fare. Can't wait to go back, it's a terrific place.
