Elegant 5 Star with relaxed atmosphere

Stopped at the Botanico for 4 nights after staying in the South, the Botanico is not "downtown" but 5 minutes in a taxi or a quick trip on the courtesy bus provided which runs to a timetable.The location however is good as there are restaurants nearby and the Botanical gardens 5 minutes away (worth a visit)if you want good shopping you need to go into Santa Cruz. The hotel built in the 70's has 3 restaurants, we tried the Spanish and the Oriental which are both worth a visit plus a fantastic Spa which you have got to try. We have a Mount Teide view which was nice when it was a clear day, deluxe room which was comfortable with a small balcony with table and 2 chairs, not large but reasonable, worth considering the Ambassador Junior Suites for the size of the room. The style throughout was elegant, relaxing, low key entertainment while we were there, breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. The staff were attentive,friendly in all areas and I can see why it has such a great repeat business as you would want to return because the staff were so lovely, the theme throughout the hotel seems to be Thai due to the owners loving this destination and the art work is also worth a mention as it is quite fabulous. Many famous people have stayed here in the past and some of the rooms have been named after them. The hotel also has lovely gardens, plus various swimming pools and Jacuzzi (we used the one accessed through the Spa as adult only. Definitely the place to stay in the North, weather was mixed but warm, yes cloudy sometimes but this did not deter from the overall enjoyment of our stay.
