A garden of Eden=With Thai & Italian food
The Narks on holiday have always gone at least Half Board, and with very good Buffet restaurants this was a new experience , A La Carte (waiter service)The hotel advertised three restaurants but closed one for a month in June this left us with the choice of Thai or Italian cuisine very well prepared and good portions,in lovely surroundings, but after ten days we were beaten by the rich and spicy food.also after dinner entertainment was dire, good singers and musicians(duos)but very few clients to entertain.cost was the usual five star prices,Red wine around £20 and two gin and tonics with coffee approx £17.The hotel itself is one of the BEST we have been in.. You enter to orchids, antiques and fine paintings with Elephants and Buddhas everywhere Our Room was perfect with a reasonable balcony, the bathroom has bath, double sinks and walk in shower(no bidet)The gardens and spa area are quite beautiful the ponds overflowing with golden carp The ,breakfast Buffet has a wide selection very good but not any better than we have had in the past.We did not try the lunch in the outside snack bar The staff are most attentive to all needs throughout the hotel.I was surprised how quiet the area outside was. we have been before in January, many times but this is our first time in June and at the Hotel Botanico and I am afraid the food was a killer to these senior citizens I will remember the experience for a long time. For the record a large supermarket is round the corner,2 litres of spirits £16
