Well done
Found hotel as excellent and surrounded by greenery as most reviewers on here have already stated. Our favourite areas were Spa Outdoor pool and Breakfast dining room. Enjoyed extra touches -such as the news sheet given out each morning on entry to breakfast in relevant language containing details form the hotel on one side and news and sport summaries from back home on the other side. Didn't take my smart phone but utilised two hotel PC's with fast internet on Floor E next to the games room and library area. Service was outstanding throughout-special thanks to the Public Relations staff who organised two trips for us which Thompsons didn't run (or ran at ridiculously early set off times). We went out to dine in the evenings--some excellent restaurants around the hotel-we particularly liked Magnolia-a little bit more expensive but impeccable service and excellent meals. Most nights we walked down to the Place de Charco area-our favourite here was La Mareo. We went to a variety of places-and enjoyed all our meals wherever. Some very good acts in the bar Hall during the evening although often there was a very sparse audience in attendance-not sure why this is-maybe it just goes on too long. Violin lady was particularly good. Hotel runs a bus into town ( 25 mins walk away) in the mornings and late afternoons-nothing though in the evening or post lunch period- taxis are cheap though-around 4 Euros back to the hotel-back in 5 mins! Bus stop is lower down the hill near the bank for Santa Cruz or Oratava-Receptions will give you the bus numbers and times-pay the driver when you get on. Coach Trip to Teide cable station café and shop was good via the hotel- cable car ride to summit was fun if you can stand heights. We also went to Loro Park via the yellow road train in the centre (where the hotel mini bus drops off). bear in mind there is a lengthy queue at peak times (we waited 40 mins). However, park is well worthwhile visiting whether adult or child. We decided to re-visit for discounted £13 as we had no time to see any shows on our first visit-there is just such a lot to see. We hope to return again to this hotel and resort but next time would go a little later in the year than July when I believe the cloud is less persistent. We had one cloudy but warm week then one hot and sunny week in mid July. Tip: Do make use of your "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door handle when you want privacy. There is a discreet bell push outside each room and house staff are engaged to regularly check on your towel needs, or to close your curtains or to turn down your bed sheet or to bring you bottled water or to leave you a chocolate or to hand you a rose etc.
