A week of sun

My husband and I decided to get away at the last minute to have some sun. It was purely by luck that we chose this hotel. It is located primarily in a residential area.. which was the only down side to our visit as my husband is a very keen walker. Usually he would head off for walks of 2 hours or more . He contented himself working out in the well equipped gym instead as he found there were no really enjoyable walks around the hotel. Staff are the backbone of any hotel and this hotel has great staff. One and all were pleasant , helpful and courteous. I particularly enjoyed the morning activities of Yoga , pilates, aqua aerobics Tai Chi. So much so I would spend 2-3 hours going from class to class or visiting the gym. The instructor of the pilates ,aqua gym ,general body toning classes was excellent - Eli -( one of the best I have ever done a class with. )The Yoga teacher was a man originally from India who had a gentle disposition and combined his class of exercise and instruction something similar was the case of the woman teaching Tai Chi. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Our room was large and quiet and overlooked the main pool . The hotel has a look of past times and in truth could do with some upgrading .. The rugs in the reception hall look like they have been cleaned within an inch of their life and some threads on the stair were actually worn bare in spots. Loungers were generally available with some residents making a play for their favourite spot from about 8.30 am. Breakfast was very good , buffet style with lots of choice. We ate lunch in the restaurant beside the pool which was also very good. There are a number of other restaurant in the hotel but we did not choose to dine in any of them.. talking to guests that did there were mixed reviews. The gardens were lovely and added to the atmosphere of the place. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a chilled out experience.
