Excellent Hotel with Old Fashioned Values

This was a last minute booking for a family holiday and were not sure what we were in for. Luckily the hotel more than surpassed our expectations. The service was exemplary with a smile and our needs anticipated. Breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. Good coffee, good tea variety. Freshly cooked omelettes/eggs, pancakes, cold cuts ,even a whole salmon, cheeses , fruit and much more. The pool area was "botanic" and no lounger stress, the attendant would get you one if none were available and then spread a fresh towel on it for you! The spa was modern with serviceable gym, sauna, Turkish bath , hot pool with separate outdoor pool , unfortunately under 14s not allowed. Otherwise the treatment of children was very good. We did not use the children's club or the restaurants in the hotel, although reportedly very good (22-24 euros a main course). We walked to town to eat and were very happy with the tripadvisor recommendations given, regretted it when when did not use their advice. Hired a car in UK before travelling, Europcar 500m walk from hotel, very reasonable prices and drove to Mount Teide , North West Coast and Siam Park. Free valet parking at hotel, I tipped them at the end rather than every time. The Hotel is slightly dated and has some scary artwork, never the less definitely a five star hotel. We look forward to returning , maybe for a 5 day luxury break.
