Five Star Service with smiles

As usual we prevaricated about where to holiday this year and ended up with a choice of a med cruise or the Hotel Botanical. So happy we chose the Botanical. Two of our number (family of four) are so white they make Caspar the Ghost seem positively sunbaked! With this in mind we decided the north of Tenerife would suit us better for a change; we've visited the south about 12 times. The climate is a little easier for the two Caspars and this is the first time in our holiday history that they didn't burn! We were cautious and still used the factor 50 or as we call it the all over body shroud! Arriving at the Botanical we were met by the doorman Carlos and taken to check in with another Carlos, Ramon, Vanessa, Barbara and Pavel all of whom were fluent in many languages. Our luggage was taken to our rooms which were double connecting rooms with en suite bathrooms. We also had balconies which were useful to just chill on. Breakfast was superb with a magnificent array of food; Neville my darling husband asked me how early I'd be getting up when we got home in order to provide him with the choice of brekkie that he'd become used to! A swift slap corrected him..... Needless to say we brought home the holiday half stone each. The pool area is the most relaxed I've ever been to with not aggravation about sun loungers and towels a plenty. There is a lovely cabana type restaurant for lunches which we used many times for a relaxed poolside bite. We tried out the Italian restaurant Pagallo at the insistence of our youngest who declared their spaghetti bolognese the best he's ever had. Our eldest loved the lasagne and also their salmon croquettes (I'd better keep on with the HelloFresh boxes to keep up standards). When we ate out we went to Don Camilo in the old town and also to Da Arrianna across the road from the hotel. The maids who looked after the rooms were accommodating and pleasant and offered a turn down service. Freddie our youngest looked forward to the truffle on the pillow every night. Carlos sorted out a car for us to visit Siam Park and also arranged for the darling husband and eldest son to play 18 holes at a local club! Ask them any question and they will get you an answer. There were a good mix of nationalities which made a pleasant change. Suffice to say that were we thinking of Tenerife again we would not hesitate to visit our friends at the Hotel Botanical.
