Traditional hotel with a great spa and wonderful staff

This large traditional hotel is a 25 minutes walk down hill from the town centre, near the Botanical gardens and has beautiful gardens of its own. There are lots of restaurants over the road if you don't want to eat at one of the three hotel restaurants. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortably firm beds, air con and lots of hanging and drawer space. Our bathroom had two basins, toilet, bidet and a step down bath and shower. Towels were large and fluffy, there is a powerful hairdryer, a make up mirror and White Co Noir toiletries. No hair conditioner and all the bottles look the same so difficult to tell which is which. The balcony was a good size to sit out on. The hotel has tennis courts, a putting green, a good sized heated swimming pool and table tennis and pool tables. Breakfasts are wonderful with everything you could want from porridge to pan y tomat, fresh fruits, cereals, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, omelettes, fresh breads and rolls, pancakes, bacon, sausages and beans. Only the coffee machine could be better. The use of the Spa is inclusive with two pools outside, a jacuzzi and smaller pool inside as well as saunas, steam, a laconium, an ice room and heated waterbeds. You can book lots of different treatments and there is a hairdressers. Take flip flops as the wet floors inside are lethal. They do exercise classes each day which are excellent. All the staff at the hotel are without exception professional, friendly and helpful, as well as speaking at least two languages. Highly recommended.
