Lovely hotel and setting. Very comfortable room
We have just returned from 10 very enjoyable days here. The accommodation and public rooms are very comfortable and the staff extremely charming. Beautiful gardens and 2 lovely outside pools. They have live entertainment in the bar each night, which is fun. Unfortunately the food is not 5 star, rather standard hotel fare, but there are many restaurants within walking distance and the old town, with much variety, is a short cab ride away. Our main complaint is that half way through our stay they closed the indoor spa for renovations without any notice. We were really enjoying this facility, although I admit it could do with updating as the floor of the pool was breaking up and the surround was very worn. However they gave no prior warning and I wonder if the people travelling this week will be informed in advance that it wont be available? After all it is advertised as a spa hotel!! I complained to their Public Relations and I must say they did their best to compensate. Free treatments and a free meal but it's not really the point.

Dear coutrymouse, Firstly thank you for choosing Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden and for sharing your feedback with the travelers of TripAdvisor. Please accept our apologies for the nuisances. Unfortunately we had a broken the floor that had to be repaired urgently in order to avoid major damages. The works could not be postponed and they have been done as quickly as possible as we were aware of the possible disturbances they might cause. We sincerely regret the inconveniences. According to the Spanish regulations, the facilities of the Spa and especially the swimming pools and jaccuzis must be submitted to specific cleaning procedures twice a year in order to prevent legionella. The dates are set by the local authorities and cannot be changed. We have however carried them out by sections so that most of the facilities were fully operational and the enjoyment of our guests was not disturbed. We regret the inconveniences this you may have suffered. On the other hand, we are glad to know our team has done their in order to compensate you giving you special Spa treatments and a free dinner.
