A Week of Luxury at Hotel Botanico

Last week we spent a most enjoyable time at the Hotel Botanico. This was the fourth occasion we have had a holiday there as we have invariably been well pleased with our stay. This latest holiday was no exception – indeed it probably surpassed all the previous ones. At the magnificent entrance the staff are always most welcoming – both the permanent employees and the students of whom there seemed to be a number this year. As anticipated, the reception staff were most helpful and efficient in taking us through the arrival formalities. We were fortunate to be allocated Room 467 with views of Mount Teide. The room was well furnished, immaculately clean and all necessities readily available. The daily make-up always left the room to the same standard and the bed preparation in the evenings was undertaken in a timely manner. The choice of food and drinks at breakfast was formidable and we had no difficulty in ensuring that we left the dining room feeling well set up for the day. On the 7 evenings we dined in the hotel, 3 dinners were taken in each of the La Parrilla and the Il Pappagallo restaurants with the remaining one in the Oriental restaurant. At all meals the service and food were of the highest quality. The choices were extensive allowing myself and my wife to vary our selections as we desired. We also used the outside area of the Bar Hall for a drink in the afternoons. Once again the service was of the highest quality Whilst we used the spa pools on a few occasions, we probably made more use of the putting green than most of your guests - indeed we played one round every day. The course was in an outstanding condition at all times and is a great credit to the gardeners (groundsmen). We also made use of the reading facilities and the large screen TV in the Etage. We used the computers in the Etage to access the internet. I have left until last perhaps my most lasting memory of this year’s visit. It was my birthday on 16th February – a date noted by your staff. The day started by finding a glass of Champagne on our breakfast table. On our return to the Hotel in the afternoon we found that the bed had been decorated in a most amusing but enjoyable manner. Additionally, there was a tray laid out with a birthday cake, a bottle of Champagne and the accoutrements with which to enjoy the repast. My wife and I look forward to visiting your hotel again in the future.
