Very Good Hotel

My family and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at hotel botanico. All in all we had a lovely time with a week of stunning weather. The hotel was very good. Rooms were clean and a reasonable size. Staff were very friendly and attentive but we were surprised at some of waiter staffs lack of basic English. Breakfast was terrific and the pool restaurant was very good too. The Thai is ok but nothing special. The Spanish restaurant we didn't feel the good was very good at all. My steak was poor and my daughters chicken had to be remade due to a hair in the food and the centre of the dish still requiring heating. The first night our meal in the Italian was poor but on our return visit the food was very good. I'm not sure why we had a couple of bad experiences. Was this down to just bad nights/luck or was it through kitchen staff shortages. We didn't get much use of the spa due to our kids ages, but the spa is fantastic and is the jewel in the crown of the hotel. All in all the hotel is an excellent choice with b&b, but we wouldn't rebook with half board as we believe there are better restaurants close by at considerably less cost.
