A great hotel set in lovely grounds
A great hotel to simply relax in. Old rather than modern in style but very spacious. Not near the beach and up a steep incline from the coast but the hotel runs a free shuttle bus 5 and a half days a week to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz/the sea. Many many positives - lovely grounds, huge lobby/lounge area, breakfast/lunch outside are wonderful, brilliant friendly staff, italian restaurant terrace, spa area, modern gym. There are 3 restaurants for evening dining (Italian, Spanish, Asian) but when we went one was closed (the hotel does say one of the 3 closes between about April thru June) which did restrict the choice in the evening. The hotel can arrange dining at Brunellis (with a discount for those on HB) but we found this restaurant very disappointing (please see my other review). We would definitely return to the Botanico but only on a HB basis when all 3 hotel restaurants are open. Otherwise we would probably opt for the B&B basis.
