How all hotels should aspire to be

What an amazing place. From the welcome by Toni on reception and the friendly and efficient door staff to leaving with a farewell gift and letter, this has been the ultimate 5 star holiday. The staff and levels of service are truly fantastic. Highly efficient, friendly and approachable. Beautifully clean rooms - can recommend interconnecting rooms 458/460 for a family - with super turn down service. The grounds are superb, incredibly well maintained and the pool area is never overcrowded. We only used the spa briefly as our child wasn't old enough to accompany us, but we will definitely be back to use it on another trip. We only had breakfasts - possibly the best breakfast in the hotel world! We could happily have spent 2 hours each day eating. Never seen a breakfast like it! Our child particularly enjoyed going to see the resident swan and turtles each evening, together with playing on the excellent putting green or playing pool. Nowhere was too busy, even in August. I celebrated my birthday there, and received a lovely bottle of champagne, cake, chocolates and card - what a lovely touch. There is an excellent Italian restaurant at the end of the drive and some lovely cafes nearby, also a very good supermarket two minutes walk away. The free hotel bus to town is very efficient but we enjoyed the walk there and back most days. It is hilly, but good exercise to walk off the chocolate fountain at breakfast...! We booked to go to Loro Parque and Siam Park through hotel - very efficient and although we had to change our day at short notice due to sunburn (!) hotel managed this for us very easily. The only downside is going home tomorrow ... But we will be back!
