We come here at least four or five times each year and have just spent four wonderfully relaxing weeks being splendidly looked after by the quite outstanding staff. All of them use our names and several have become good friends since we have been coming here for years. Why do we do that? The answer is simple....Botanico is totally RESTFUL, RELIABLE AND ALWAYS CONSISTENT. General Manager Gustavo Escobar who was appointed more than three years ago has the highest of professional standards, has built a good staff team and introduced many positive changes for a discerning clientele many of whom return year after year. Suites are spacious and well equipped and housekeeping standards are impeccable. Breakfast offers a wide choice and Chef Mario presides over a very efficient kitchen where all sorts of omelettes are popular. The Spa area is tranquil except when some inconsiderate and unsophisticated guests defy clearly stated regulations by talking LOUDLY on mobile phones. It is important that more control is exercised and regular staff patrolling the pool area is ESSENTIAL in order to stop this blatant intrusion into what should always be an oasis of peace. New loungers are less comfortable than the previous ones and several broke. In our opinion...and those of other guests...the entire stock ought to be returned to the suppliers and higher quality ones obtained...this is a Leading Hotel of the World after all. Finally in Il Papagallo ,the cuisine in the Italian restaurant has been GREATLY IMPROVED following the appointment of the excellent and renowned chef Giorgio Grimolini ,formerly of the well loved but now closed Rosa di Bari. All in all Botanico is a wonderful place to relax in the certainty that ,unlike many other hotels, management and staff REALLY, REALLY CARE for all of their guests. Highly recommended. .
