Perfect escape

Just returned from a 5 day stay at this lovely hotel. A perfect escape from English winter. Our first stay in the north of the island after staying several times in the south at other highly rated hotels. We really loved the botanico for the friendly caring staff, beautiful gardens and the perfect spa. The attention to detail here is second to none on every front and the staff are extremely professional wherever you go in this hotel. Special credit to Tommy when we arrived explaining everything about the room and the hotel and for being a mine of local information. Our suite on the 5th floor was excellent and had beautiful views of the mountains. It was the perfect place to relax. The spa is very spacious and one of the best I have seen anywhere in the world. Look out for the amazingly huge carp in all the ponds and the amount of birds you can see in the beautifully kept gardens, black swans, herons and terrapins . Loved the commitment to ecological issues associated with tourism in this hotel. Only tiny negatives were the restaurants which apart from the breakfast buffet which was extremely good and the tai restaurant were not quite up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Would have appreciated morning tea making facilities and a coffee machine in the suite which is almost standard these days in hotels of this high calibre. Minor niggles though and can’t wait to go back. Thank you all for a wonderful stay ,
