Fantastic aquarium but steep ticket price!

I had heard about the new Poema del Mar aquarium in the port area of Las Palmas - easily reachable via a pedestrian overpass near Santa Catalina Park (and only from there) so I logged onto their website and bought my ticket (€ 25,-!). I went to the aquarium shortly after they open on a weekday, which meant there were only a few other visitors there. The aquarium (which also has quite a few reptiles) is amazing- the whole interior design is both intelligent and spectacular. The only thing that needs improvement are the screens that give a lot of information but as there is only one and there are several "pages" per animal, you might have to wait a long time to find out what animal(s) you are looking at. The staff are both helpful and knowledgeable. I can say that Poema del Mar is among the most impressive aquariums I have ever seen, unique in its presentation but also extremely expensive for a place you are likely to visit with other family members. This said however: If you like aquariums you will love Poema del Mar.
