A really good hotel

An excellent breakfast buffet, friendly staff, a wonderful spa area and a beautiful garden. I liked the little details through out our one week stay, those were the little things that made our stay great. First of all the bus shuttle down to the town and back up. Even though we like to walk around a lot on our vacations, this service helped out a lot when we felt tired. Every time we went in to the hotel lobby or went out, there was someone at the door greeting you. It made the hotel seem more personal and safe during the late hours. The hotel arranged a welcome cocktail event for the new guests. And their PR-person, I believe her name was Susanne, introduced herself to everyone individually. This seemed a bit odd at first to me, but then I thought it was a nice detail which only gave the hotel a face, a persona, so to speak. The room was good with a great view. There was small water bottles in the bathroom for the tooth brushing and it was kind of sweet when they came with new bottles almost every day. A nice way to remind us tourists that the tap water isn´t good in every country! The cleaning of the rooms was good, but the cleaning time varied from day to day. On our first night the cleaner knocked at our door at 8.30 PM. She wanted to make the bed ready for the night. Since we had had a very long day with a 6 hour flight, we said no that evening. So I got the hotel´s program for the next week and two chocolates instead. Later in the week we realized that she made the bed ready for the night, put a towel and a pair of slippers on the floor beside the bed and the chocolates on the pillows. A really sweet thing to do and that really made us feel like we stayed at a five star hotel. The hotel advertised quite aggressively about Brunelli´s, a steak restaurant at the beach. We decided to go and eat there. It was a really good deal, the hotel payed for the taxi to and from the restaurant. And the restaurant was good. The spa area was in a separate building with its own garden. A really wonderful place to relax in!! The different saunas were really good! And the best part, the age limit was 16. The hotel had four restaurants and we tried two of them. I have to say, they didn´t really rock my socks. One thig that turned me down about the restaurants was that the menus outside the restaurants had the same layout. I understand that it is meant to be seen that they all belong to the same hotel, but since the menus all looked the same, none really popped out. The hotel garden was beautiful and a nice place to walk around in. Overall a really good hotel.
