Really enjoyed our visit
Poema del Mar is hands down the best aquarium I have ever visited. For 25 euros a person we were a little hesitant, and we only decided the day before that we were actually going to go. We were so glad we did! The landscaping is absolutely beautiful and so well done, with natural theming throughout. The tanks/enclosures are large, and the welfare of the creatures seems to be top notch. The layout of the aquarium is fantastic because it's built on a one way circuit, so visitors flow well through it and we never felt congested at all. We got to see everything and not have to worry about missing bits, because the circuit told you which way to go to see everything - this also stops people from walking back in the opposite direction to you and causing crowding. There is definitely a lot to see, with a wide range of species from different habitats. There is clear information and signage on every enclosure to tell you what species are in the tank/enclosure, their history, distribution, feeding habits etc. The information is displayed in English, Spanish, French and German so is accessible to lots of visitors. I think there are options for more languages too, but these were the ones I remembered. I would suggest that the option to tap the screen to speed them up to see the next species would be a good idea though, to save having to wait to circle through them all. Most of all we enjoyed the large tropical coral tank that is over several storeys, the giant aquarium with the long panoramic screen, the chameleon tree and the rescued turtles. Would recommend visiting here.
