New Year luxury in Puerto de la Cruz

This is our second visit to the Hotel Botanico, last visit Dec/Jan 2016. Nothing about either of our stays disappoints . The hotel just oozes luxury, excellence in service and all you would expect from a leading hotel. Would recommend room 315, our Ambassador Suite for this stay. We ate in all the hotel restaurants which steer away from the ‘international buffet’ style in favour of fine dining. Great food . Our only comment on the food would be that the service in the Oriental Restaurant was not as good as we experienced in the others. We always had our post-dinner coffee in the bar lounge. If you are looking for more traditional dining, there are plenty of restaurants close by. The Oriental Spa is great and the treatments are excellent. A gym, yoga and Thai chi , jogging tracks, pitch and putt and tennis courts all available for those wanting to keep active whilst away - we brought all the kit with us but As usual we were too busy relaxing and enjoying the many facilities. The New Years Eve gala dinner was excellent and the tables were put together carefully - we met some great people. The hotel runs a shuttle service into Puerto de la Cruz. We usually walked down and caught the bus back - it’s a steep walk! In summary , we were a little concerned that having had such a fantastic holiday here two years ago that we might be disappointed this time round - far from it. The hotel deserves all its stars and we will return again next New Year . Thanks to all the staff in the hotel who clearly enjoy their work and understand what great service means and looks like.
