Truly wonderful service and staff

I had always been a little sceptical of five star hotels, as some professional reviewers often give the impression that the rating is more about amenities and conference facilities than everything else, but this hotel completely changed my opinion. We spent ten lovely days and nights here during April 2019 and it is difficult to know where to start. The service was memorably warm and friendly without being the least bit obtrusive - absolutely five stars here. The staff were really lovely and one got the feeling that they genuinely cared. Three excellent restaurants for evening dinner - Asian (with a bias towards Thailand), Italian and of course Spanish, as well as the main restaurant for breakfasts and lunches. We enjoyed all of them in equal measure and there were plenty of healthy options. It was a nice touch to be invited for the manager's drinks party" as well. The spa was something else. You could easily spend an afternoon there with a variety of steam/cold/shower rooms, swimming pools (inside and out) and jacuzzis (indoors and out) and a genuine air of Zen-like calm, and I don't believe under 16s are allowed. Definitely worthy of the five star rating and one to go back to.
