Fabulous hotel and spa

What a lovely hotel this is. The staff are so friendly helpful and courteous. We stayed for 2 weeks in a room overlooking the pool and beautiful tropical gardens with Mount Teide in the distance. We had a tour of the suites and most rooms have good views apart from those overlooking the front of the hotel and car park which I would not have liked. It was very quiet when we were there and some days we had the pool almost to ourselves. We loved the spa, it was so serene and relaxing. We did the thermal circuit most days and then swam in the indoor pool which was lovely and warm. The Jacuzzi in the cave was quite special. Breakfast was fine but more geared towards the continental taste. We had dinner once in the Asian restaurant. The service was impeccable and the presentation was fabulous but we found the food to be rather bland and had expected more flavour. There was entertainment each evening in the lounge bar but the audience was very sparce. It was a great shame but the performers carried on regardless. There was a good crowd however for the flamenco show which was one of the best we have ever seen. Perhaps the steep drinks prices discourage guests from using the bar in the evenings? Every evening before dinner there was wine tasting or cocktail making and gin tasting etc which was good. A daily news sheet handed out at breakfast listed what was going on throughout the day. Maid service and turn down was excellent and our room and balcony was very comfortable. The tropical gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed daily walks to see the swans, fish and terrapins and huge butterflies. The gardeners worked tirelessly in the heat keeping the plants and grass immaculate. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly recommend this hotel.
