Captivating!

My boyfriend and I both live on the island, and I’ve never been to Poema Del Mar. Wish I’d gone sooner! Parking is paid for at the back of the beautifully presented and eye catching aquarium architecture, located next to the marina. Cost €0.75 for the parking for our visit. Lovely, hand painted whale structures by local artists are outside. We got the cheaper resident prices, served by a lovely lady at the ticket office. You walk in and and it’s beautiful! A lot of money has been spent on the aquarium, and you can really see it! All the animals are well cared for and look very healthy, enclosures are kept clean and tidy - with the welfare of the animals the number one priority! Friendly and helpful staff, along with every enclosure, no matter how small, having interactive touchscreens so you can learn more about the resident biology here. They’re available in Spanish, English and German. We went too late to try the restaurant (I wish I could have eaten here!) deep in the heart of the aquarium, but it has stunning views of the deep sea exhibit! You can eat whilst watching an array of deep sea life swim by. Lovely tranquil music plays, really relaxing you as you take in the sheer beauty of the biology on display. We were both in absolute awe of the entire place and left feeling relaxed, and well, speechless. Absolute must if you’re visiting Gran Canaria.
