Magic Del Mar

This Aquarium stands out as possibly the best in the world. It is stunning. On the outside it looks like a modern ship hanger located in the port. Has a large well designed courtyard at the entrence with plenty of seating and bins, very tidy looking. The cost is around 25 euros for a adult and well worth it. There are toilets at the entrance in case there's a que waiting to buying tickets. When you get inside you are taken into a tropical jungle zone with river and pond features with a very good variety of fish to see. You are then led through dark tunnels with viewing windows in the walls. All have information on the fish you encounter throiughout the Aquarium in several languages. The most magical place was the hugh curved window the size of a row of terrence houses. Understand that it is the largest one of its kind in the world. Could spend the whole day just looking at the sharks and shoals of fish. There are restuarants and cafe's and a good number of toilets throughout the aquarium. Poema Del Mar means poem of the sea, but for us it was the magic of the sea. A fantastic afternoon and highlight of our holiday.
