Amazing hotel, location quieter than south but maybe not so good for sun worshippers

Wonderful hotel. Staff were really helpful. Rooms amazing. Great choice for Breakfast . Lovely pool. First night we walked towards beach which was a mistake.. a long walk and not the nicest. Go towards botanical gardens instead. Plenty of restaurants within 1/2 a Mile. Hotel bus regularly to closest beach, but nicest areas a short taxi ride away. We preferred to eat out. Puerto de la Cruz is much less touristy than the south, I prefer it, but there is less sun, We visited loro park, then hired a car and spent a couple of days in the south as the weather was warm but cloudy in the north. Hotel was very accepting of our lively 8 yr old boy, but there were probably fewer families here. ( weather/beaches?)
