An excellent week at Hotel Botanico

We have just thoroughly enjoyed a week staying at the Hotel Botanico. The room was spacious, always clean, turned down each evening and extremely comfortable for my wife, two boys and me. We had an interconnecting deluxe double room so my children had a room of their own separated by an internal door - perfect for acquiring a little space at the end of the day! All hotel staff including catering staff, receptionists and cleaners were exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel welcomed and relaxed. The hotel is in a really nice area of Puerto de la Cruz and about 15 minutes walk downhill to the rugged coast lined with black sand beaches. The hotel interior is impressive, from the beautifully decorated, marble lined foyer to the quieter nooks and crannies. It was obvious to us that the hotel management and every member of staff take pride in providing an excellent level of service. The hotel’s gardens are worthy of mention too - stunning ponds and natural vegetation well-groomed - in view of the majestic Mt Teide. Sun beds were plentiful with clean towels provided and there was no pressure to ‘reserve’ a place. In addition, the pools were warm, well maintained, clean and spacious. The buffet style breakfast was outstanding with several chefs preparing fresh foods (omelettes, pancakes and cooked breakfasts) to our tastes with table service for drinks. We tried a couple of excursions throughout the week and pick ups were either at the hotel or very nearby. (Avoid Siam Water Park in August - it was a horrendous experience!) I would highly recommend this hotel to couples and families.
