Fantastic BUT, SOME of the tanks were too small for such large animals. Some looked utterly board, some clearly stressed

It wasn’t terrible, it was actually really excellent. However, In some of the fish and other animals I saw disturbing signs that they were displaying typical movements associated ‘Stereotypy’, where animals are traumatised by being trapped without enough stimulation. The stingrays, some of the very large eels, sharks and a few other just continuously swam in circles. Noticeable if you sat and watched the huge cylinder in the middle even for only a few minutes. They just passed round and round. One eel tank was rammed with them all half crammed into rocks. The snout nosed turtles and octopus were in far too small tanks for such big animals, little over 1 or 2m2. Octopus being especially intelligent it just is heartbreaking. I think of the fish or animals showing these sign’s should be released, some were just too big. Yes the tanks were impressively huge, but nothing compared to the vast ocean. All in all it was really good, lots of massive tanks and full of things I had never seen before. Amazing really, but I cant help thinking of the ones I saw that clearly were unhappy. I wanted to email the aquarium directly but couldn’t find a link to so heres my best shot at at least telling them, not that it will do any good.
