Excellent steak, excellent view and excellent staff.

Although there are several signs advertising this restaurant on nearby main roads, this is somewhere it might be easy to miss. It is tucked away on a side street but probably has to be, in order to have such excellent views across a bay and out to sea. The entrance is very unimposing; again, easy to miss. Once inside, one encounters a large open-spaced venue with a range of various-sized tables. I was lucky to be seated right beside the view and the sunset was lovely. The multi-lingual staff are friendly and helpful. As its name suggests, meat is the focus here and there is a large choice of steaks from which to select. The meat is air-dried and matured, so really tender and tasty. First-rate selection of wines too. The house red is very good. The restaurant appears to be linked with the Hotel Botanico and hotel guests will receive a complimentary aperitif. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the restaurant some evenings. However, taxis in Puerto de la Cruz are not at all expensive, so any absence of a free shuttle bus is no reason not to eat here. I highly recommend this establishment.
