A week of sheer pleasure
We recently returned from our second visit to the Hotel Botánico. Our stay was delightful from start to finish. We tried out one of the new superior rooms and they are excellent, very spacious and more than worth the extra money. The spa and gardens are fantastic, as they were the last time. We ate once each at all three of the main restaurants and were very satisfied each time. According to our host at Il Pappagallo, they were offering a brand-new menu for the first time on the night of our visit, but everything ran smoothly and the meal was delicious, with a very wide choice of dishes for each course. No complaints about the price either. The food was much more sophisticated than at other restaurants located nearby, and an equivalent dinner at home in the Netherlands would have cost quite a bit more. Apparently some reviewers have had criticisms of the service, but we can’t imagine why. To us, the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff- without exception- is one of the strongest points of the hotel. We’re already looking at the calendar wondering when to visit next.
